An 8-week programme for people setting up new distributed projects who want to hit the ground running in 2025. Are you building in media, healthcare, agriculture or education? This is for you >>
I'm interested in this project and being a part of it. I have a background in mental health and would like to make the treatment that I currently deliver face to face, accessible and affordable digitally by lots of people at a very cheap price. I align with your ethics and philosophies, and this is why I would like to do it through Pattern. Please could you send me more information.
Kia ora Ben, well done on getting this idea off the ground. I’m interested in getting these insights. Will the sessions be recorded as our NZ Timezone isn’t always friendly? Also, I’m banned from all the major platforms, is the social media aspect of promotion a challenge that can be overcome without this access? Keen to talk to you also about our parallel communities here and the progress we are making. Best wishes from a warm spring evening !
Surely blockchain technology and distributed systems are a major part of the 4th Industrial Revolution? I can't see how this isn't exactly what was planned all along, unless you are not using digital technology. The aim may well be an ant computer where humans run around collaborating in a way that is intelligible to computers. Think about ants – they are agents working within a social structure that facilitates complex emergence even if the individual ants have no clue what is going on at levels about their pay grade!
I'm not sure what you're referring to..? Blockchain is certainly part of the 4th Industrial Revolution, but I haven't mentioned Blockchain. When I say distributed systems, I mean the local systems outside of centralised corporate control. That is literally the opposite of the WEF / 4th Industrial Revolution agenda.
The internet is controlled, so I don't see how you can use it and not be part of the current system? We were all born into an industrial society and now it is moving into a more digital form. Humans and machines becoming linked. What you are suggesting is still playing the game even though the participants will kid themselves they are free of the system.
We can use the internet to communicate and work with each other in the short term. I see no issue with that, while we establish ourselves and build offline networks in parallel.
The internet is a tool and yes there are entities out there trying to control it, but they obviously lost control in the first place and are playing catch up.
Being aware of this assists a more skillful use of the technology.
Positive and informed intent improves the outcome of any tool use.
Aikido uses a philosophy of blending with and redirecting the energy of your attacker to neutralise the attack without injuring yourself or the attacker.
I suspect that Ben will be quite adept at teaching these kind of skills for the constructive use of the internet and associated technologies
I am interested in doing this.
Hi Colin, nice to hear from you. I'm going to direct message you with a link to the accelerator.
Ben, is this course something you will consider doing again in the future? i am interested, but i feel i am not quite ready.
Hi, yes we will be running courses through next year.
great thanks Ben
